Our client is actively seeking a Project Manager to join their land development practice based in Washington, District of Columbia.
Our client is a dynamic, multidisciplinary engineering, planning, and design consultancy with an employee-centric culture and a community-driven portfolio featuring some of DC’s highest-profile private and public developments. Since their inception, our client has built a rich legacy of designing spaces that enliven communities, promote public welfare, drive sustainability, and inspire innovation.
In this project management role, you will play a pivotal part in mentoring and leading a team of engineers, contributing your wealth of experience to guide and inspire the next generation of professionals. Join us in our collaborative, inclusive, and energetic environment, where your leadership will shape the future of our land development practice.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the development, tracking, and maintenance of the project schedule to ensure deliverables are completed to ensure client expectations are met.
- Ensure effective communication and coordination on assigned projects between other project participants, including architects, engineers, developers, contractors, and clients.
- Prepare proposals and Scope of Work ( SOWs) for clients
- Manage contract budget and monthly billing.
- Lead productions of detailed construction drawings and work with internal production staff to meet deadlines for site development projects that include site layout, site grading, site geometry, site utilities, and site storm drainage, for commercial, institutional, infrastructure, and transportation projects.
- Implement project-specific AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or MicroStation CAD requirements, and coordinate production with other firms to ensure conformance with client standards.
- Advance and lead planning studies, preliminary and final design plan production, and project permitting.
- Perform QA/QC of own work and the work of team members.
- Train and mentor new and junior level staff members.
Preferred Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience within the land development/site civil engineering field.
- Washington D.C experience preferred
- Experience leading and mentoring junior engineers in land development/site civil.
- A Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering.
- In possession of PE
- Experience in AutoCAD, or Civil 3D.
- Have a passion for collaboration throughout the design and execution of projects.
