Job Description

Timmons Group is seeking a Civil Project Engineer II to join our Land Development Group in our Washington, DC office.

As a Civil Project Engineer II, you will perform site development engineering and project management tasks for residential, commercial, and mixed-use projects. You will have experience with site civil design, permitting, and applicable software applications including AutoCAD and Civil 3D.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design portions of a project using relevant office software, modeling, and Civil 3D technology
  • Complete calculations using engineering formulas and skills
  • Prepare specifications materials through research and manufacturing catalogs
  • Work to complete design details and plan sets
  • Perform research and write objective summary reports
  • Assist in the preparation of engineering and construction cost estimates
  • Complete field observation, inspection, and data collection duties
  • Communicate with client staff and internal design team

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related degree
  • Two to four years of experience in land development civil engineering, EIT preferred
  • Working knowledge of Autodesk Civil 3D required
