The Director, Social Impact for Philadelphia Soccer 2026 requires a strong knowledge of the Philadelphia Region and the Commonwealth, as well as leadership skills and experience to manage multiple stakeholders on a day-to-day basis in this dynamic, growing vertical. Closely adhering to the vision of both FIFA and Philadelphia Soccer 2026 for how FIFA World Cup 2026™ can have important impact for residents and business alike, the Director, Social Impact serves as the key liaison for the organization, managing community engagement as well as helping to identify and communicate legacy opportunities for this impact. This individual will also play a crucial role in setting diversity goals and metrics and ensuring that Philadelphia Soccer 2026 meets them by the close of the tournament in July 2026. This role will also be a POC to FIFA in identifying and implementing initiatives that may unite across all 16 Host Cities.


What Are We Looking For? 

  • The Director, Social Impact would: 
  • Serve as primary POC for FIFA’s Human Rights and Sustainability verticals; working with FIFA to appropriately prioritize/implement its Human Rights Framework and Sustainability initiatives. 
  • Manage City stakeholders’ expectations of social impact and community engagement, helping to communicate legacy opportunities 
  • Establish diversity goal/metrics, ensuring that all initiatives meet these goals/metrics 
  • Steward: 

Economic inclusion commitments 

Sustainability requests with the City of Philadelphia and Philadelphia Eagles 

Diverse business engagement (aligning with work completed to date by General Counsel) 

Public/Private funds allocated by Philadelphia Soccer 2026 Board/organization to social impact initiatives  

  • Develop best-in-class internship program for 2025-2026, which focuses on engaging diverse talent 
  • Reengage/Manage Social Impact Council  
  • Deliver a comprehensive Social Impact Report for Philadelphia Soccer 2026 post-tournament  
  • Support/Coordinate efforts with:  

Lemon Hill Redevelopment  

Commonwealth-wide Youth Soccer Engagement / “Growing the Game” 

  • Report to Chief External Affairs Officer


Let’s Start With: 

  • 6-8 years of social impact/community engagement experience with a strong understanding of – and commitment to – best practices 
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills and extensive experience in managing multiple, diverse stakeholder groups 
  • Demonstrated experience in effective team supervision and performance management 
  • Critical thinking and creative problem-solving skills 
  • Excellent project management, budgeting, organization and management skills 
  • Ability to work successfully with teams on multiple projects under tight deadlines 
  • Proven leadership ability with the ability to be responsive and nimble based on evolving situations. 
  • A successful track record of establishing and helping organizations/teams meet key metrics
