Role description:

As the Export Sales Manager, you will be responsible for growing our sales across our key export territories by managing our distribution partners and a team of experienced international sales reps as well as their own portfolio of accounts.


Reporting to our VP, Global Sales, you will work closely and collaboratively with colleagues in the sales, marketing and operations teams, and also across the business.


Responsibilities:

  • Build strong relationships with key sales agencies in Canada and the UK, with the goal of growing awareness of our books and our brand, and achieving revenue goals in these important territories;
  • Manage partnerships with international distributors in Australia, New Zealand, Asia, India and Africa and Central/South America  to achieve annual sales goals;
  • Oversee relationships with all international sales reps and keep them up-to-date with new title releases, company news and sales materials. Manage seasonal sales conferences and presentations for distributors and reps;
  • Foster relationships with a selection of export customers directly and plan for travel for in-person meetings in accordance with annual sales plans;
  • Stay aware of  all incoming orders and respond to rep and customer queries in a timely manner;
  • Help organize and attend major international trade fairs as planned in annual marketing budget, including London, Frankfurt, Beijing, Guadalajara, etc.;
  • Stay aware of global trends in children’s publishing and identify new opportunities for international sales growth.


Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of international sales experience, preferably in the publishing industry;
  • Experience managing sales agents and distribution partners with defined sales goals;
  • Ability and desire to travel and attend trade shows and in-person sales calls;
  • Outstanding people skills, with an ability to nurture and grow strong relationships both in person and remotely;
  • Excellent organizational skills, ability to work collaboratively and independently in a fast-paced environment;
  • Proficiency with Google Suite, Outlook and related programs;
  • Strong oral and written communication skills;
  • Positive attitude with a passion for talking about children’s books.
