Russell Tobin is seeking a Scientific Services Support professional for a medical technology company in Boston, MA.
Job Title: Scientific Services Support
Location: Boston, MA 02210 (on-site)
Job Type: Contract (with potential to go Perm)
Est. Start Date: October 2024
Length: 6-Months
Hours: M-F, 7:30am-4pm
Pay Rate: $20.00 - $22.74 per hour
Daily Responsibilities/Job Description:
- Assist in Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) Development
- Mentor/Train new team members
- Work with team lead to develop process improvement initiatives
- Pick up and deliver glassware and plastic ware.
- Observe the established procedures for the handling and transporting of glassware and contaminated items.
- Operate autoclaves for decontamination or sanitization.
- Operate glassware washers, dry heat sterilizers and ultrasonic baths
- Maintain temperature chart recorders / equipment forms and use proper documentation.
- Perform routine inspections/checks on glass wash and autoclave equipment
- Prepare items for sanitization including glassware, caps and related articles, employing procedural steps during the process.
- Inspect glassware for cleanliness and structural defects.
- Routinely checks inventory of glassware, notifying Glassware Lead of deficiencies.
- Provide housekeeping of glassware processing areas.
- Follow all procedures in performing all aspects of glassware processing.
- Perform monthly de-scale and routine maintenance.
- Use Good Documentation Practices (GDP) for all paperwork.
- Observe all safety precautions and be proactive in raising safety and operational concerns.
- Complete all required training in a timely manner.
- This role will work closely with other teams to seamlessly deliver lab support services.
- Will be required to cross-train and back-up other lab support areas as needed.
- Demonstrates appropriate use of relevant equipment/software after training.
- Maintain training and compliance in areas of health and safety, security, environmental and operational aspects of daily activities in the working environment.
Qualifications/years of experience:
- The employee will regularly be required to walk, stand, sit and talk or hear; to use hands to finger, handle, feel or operate objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms.
- The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift or move weights up to 100 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus
- May be responsible for exporting the results of studies, test results and data entry.
Technology Requirements:
- MS Office Skills: Outlook, PowerPoint, Word
Soft Skills Needed:
- Ability to follow oral and written directions.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent customer service skills complemented by an ability to listen to and interpret client requests.
