We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented individual to join our client's team as a Benefits and HR Specialist. In this role, you will be the main point of contact for all benefits-related inquiries and will provide essential support in various HR functions. Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Acting as the primary contact for all benefits inquiries, including medical, dental, vision, voluntary life, disability, leaves of absence, workers' compensation, 401(k), and COBRA participants.
  • Managing annual Open Enrollment processes for Cigna and UHC, as well as quarterly 401k Open Enrollment, ensuring timely and accurate enrollment of employees with carriers and processing qualifying life events.
  • Distributing benefits enrollment materials and Medicare Part D Notices, maintaining benefits files, and assisting employees with benefit-related questions, claim issues, and plan changes.
  • Processing Evidence of Insurability (EOI) for late entrants and/or over Guarantee Issue Amount.
  • Addressing inquiries related to 401k enrollments, plan changes, and contribution amounts.
  • Processing all Leave of Absence requests, maintaining employee benefits files and data in HRIS, and confirming employees' eligibility with carriers.
  • Initiating workers' compensation claims, reporting claims to carriers, scheduling injured employees for medical care, and maintaining files and logs of all active claims.
  • Monitoring and reconciling insurance premiums owed for employees on Leave of Absence, and conducting benefit payroll audits to ensure accurate payroll deduction adjustments.
  • Completing insurance verifications (SSA/Medicare/DHHS) and gathering documents and reports for benefit plan audits.
  • Processing medical support orders and preparing and reconciling monthly benefits billing.


In addition to these responsibilities, you will play a crucial role in guiding managers and employees on various HR policies, programs, and practices. You will lead employee relations groups to foster positive relationships between leaders, managers, and employees and act as a liaison between employees and HR on relevant HR activities. Your duties will also include coaching departmental leadership on employee relations matters, providing case management services for employee complaints and investigations, and crafting strategies to resolve personnel issues.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Three (3) years of experience in Human Resources and three (3) years of benefits experience.
