Position Summary

As a Production Operations Manager, you will play a critical role on the Kindred Production team. You will lead, coach and mentor a dynamic team of Technicians and Leads while managing day-to-day operations and driving key metrics in your area of responsibility. In this role, you will also work cross-functionally with our Design, Supply Chain and Engineering teams, among others, to ensure your team is fully supported and that production goals are being met. You will partner with these cross-functional teams, and senior leadership to ensure limiters are understood, and action is being taken to eliminate them urgently.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Build a dedicated, disciplined and determined production team capable of consistently delivering high quality products against aggressive production targets
  • Empower the production team to collaborate with engineering to improve product manufacturability and line productivity
  • Support issue resolution including root cause investigation & corrective action tracking
  • Support our goal of no defects from leaving an individual station or team area
  • Help develop, improve and maintain Standardized Work Instructions used in production processes by the assembly team members to ensure repeatable, predictable outcomes at scale
  • Support and execute a variety of Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) assurance functions, including ensuring safety training is current, documenting EHS incidents, proactively correcting workplace hazards in your area and site-wide, and empowering others to do the same.
  • Manage and hold team members accountable to Kindred policies and expectations for attendance, conduct, performance and quality. Partner with HR and senior management to ensure your team is fully capable of completing their mission.


Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

  • 3+ years of experience managing teams of people in a volume manufacturing setting preferred
  • Experience in recruiting, selecting and developing new team members
  • Demonstrated ability to work with and develop production performance metrics (Safety, People, Quality, Rate, Cost)
  • Demonstrated ability to work under pressure while managing competing demands and tight deadlines
  • Ability to communicate clearly using excellent written and verbal skills; comfortable interacting and communicating openly with executives and senior leaders on a daily basis
  • Possession of strong organization skills with meticulous attention to detail
  • Fluency with common MS office programs (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to support OT and weekend work if needed
