Director of Business Development

The Director of Business Development is responsible for driving revenue growth and expanding market share for IDS Fulfillment by developing and executing a sales strategy to achieve sales and profit goals. This role will manage a portfolio of mid-market clients (revenue range $20M-$50M) and develop strategic partnerships to optimize their fulfillment operations. Success emphasizes identifying and cultivating new business opportunities by building strong relationships with potential clients. The Director of Business Development must work well with others on the IDS team and drive success through the sales process with other IDS team members. Travel as needed to customer locations, trade shows, business functions, etc.

- Sales Management: Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve revenue and profit goals. Manage a portfolio of mid-market clients, adjusting sales goals and procedures as needed.
- Business Development: Identify and cultivate new business opportunities through building strong relationships with potential clients.
- Market Analysis: Conduct market research to identify emerging trends and opportunities for growth.
- Analytical - Synthesize complex or diverse information, collect and research data, use intuition and experience to complement data, design workflows and procedures, and work with marketing team to implement strategy needs.
- Problem Solving – Identify and resolve problems in a timely manner, gather and analyze information skillfully, develop alternative solutions, work well in group problem solving situations, and use reason even when dealing with emotional topics.
- Project Management – Develop project plans, coordinate projects, proactively communicate changes and progress, complete projects on time and budget, and manage project team activities.
- Technical Skills – Assess own strengths and weaknesses, pursue training and development opportunities, strive to continuously build knowledge and skills, and share expertise with others.
- Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring their satisfaction and loyalty.
- Product and Service Development: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop new products and services that meet the evolving needs of the market.
- Communication: Provide regular updates and reports to leadership team on sales progress, pipeline status, and market trends.
- CRM Management: Utilize HubSpot CRM to effectively manage sales pipeline, track customer interactions, and analyze sales performance.
- Customer Service – Manage difficult or emotional customer situations, respond promptly to customer needs, solicit customer feedback to improve service, respond to requests for service and assistance, and meet commitments.
- Oral Communication – Speak clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations, listen to gain clarification, respond well to questions, demonstrate group presentation skills, and actively participate in meetings.
- Written Communication – Write clearly and informatively, edit work for spelling and grammar, develop writing style to provide value and meet needs, present numerical data effectively, and able to read and interpret written information.

- Proven track record of success in sales and business development within the logistics or supply chain industry.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to discuss both business and non-business topics with all levels of management both inside and outside the company.
- Ability to respond effectively to sensitive inquiries and complaints.
- Ability to make effective and persuasive presentations to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
- Advance skills with HubSpot, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Sound understanding of computer systems and demonstrated ability to learn new programs.
- Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference.
- Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
- Ability to think logically and problem solve in order to analyze situations, troubleshoot, and make sound decisions.
- Ability to understand and discuss new theories and practices within the supply chain discipline.
- Ability to work with the CRO and marketing teams.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree and experience in a similar environment or a combination of training and experience.
Experience in the fulfillment industry.
Familiar with a wide variety of the sales fields concepts, practices, and procedures.
