Job Summary:

Cincinnati State is seeking a highly skilled Senior Development Officer to join our Institutional Advancement team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for dramatically increasing major gifts with an emphasis on growing seven-figure commitments to support the College's mission.

Under the direction of the Chief of Institutional Advancement and Foundation Executive Director, you will enhance the major gifts program in coordination with College and Foundation leadership. Your expertise will be instrumental in shaping and submitting request proposals to achieve support for key College and Foundation priorities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and accelerate the major gifts program, working closely with the Chief of Institutional Advancement and Foundation Executive Director, College President, and key volunteers from the College Board of Trustees, Foundation, and Alumni Boards.
  • Develop opportunities to fill needed gaps by leveraging institutional, state, and other public commitments, as well as building upon previous philanthropic support to win new six and seven-figure commitments.
  • Work with College colleagues from respective academic programs, student support services, and administration to facilitate substantial asks that can be implemented and tracked by the College.
  • Steer growth in naming and sponsorship rights and opportunities for College programs to increase student success and meet regional employer needs.
  • Establish fundraising goals with the Chief of Institutional Advancement and Foundation Executive Director for year one, three years, and five years.
  • Meet weekly with the Chief of Institutional Advancement and Foundation Executive Director and provide monthly reports.
  • Collaborate with the Institutional Advancement team on fundraising, tracking, and data needs, including consultants involving grant requests, government affairs requests, and philanthropic campaign priorities.
  • Manage and maintain engagement with the list of current major donors, steward donors into major gift donors, and bring new major gift donors to support the College.
  • Identify not only major cash donations needed for programs but also equipment and other program supports needed given the large number of students and employers served in technical programs.
  • Strategically engage with supporters and prospects with a holistic consideration of other giving opportunities and commitments involving planned giving, events, scholarships, and more.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of four years of development experience.
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution.
  • Experience with project management.
  • Advanced MS Office skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to participate in collaborative partnerships.
  • Demonstrated ability for teamwork.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Higher Education experience.
  • Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE).
