Overview: Insight Global is seeking a Senior Nuclear Engineer to support Pratt’s Nuclear Valve Product Line. This role involves creating valve designs, managing customer orders, and overseeing product development. The ideal candidate will ensure compliance with specifications, develop manufacturing drawings and BOMs, review customer POs, perform seismic and weak link analysis calculations, and participate in audit activities.
Day-to-Day Activities:
- Create valve designs and manage customer orders
- Handle product development and ensure specification compliance
- Develop manufacturing drawings and BOMs
- Review customer purchase orders
- Perform calculations for seismic and weak link analysis
- Participate in audit activities
Must-Haves:
- EIT License (PE License preferred or willingness to obtain within 12 months)
- Experience with nuclear valves (maintenance for power plants and nuclear industry) and/or combustion systems (burners, heaters, boilers, etc.)
- Familiarity with AWWA, MSS, ASME, and ASTM standards
- Experience with manufacturing methods such as fabrication, machining, foundry, and metal forming
- Ability to create drawings and BOMs
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, FEA, and Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience with butterfly valve or actuator design
- Knowledge of valve torque, actuator sizing, and seismic stress report/analysis
Nice to Have:
- PE License
- Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related fields.
