Our client, a professional sports (& entertainment) league is seeking a Sr. Project Manager for their Media Product & Technology group. This group possesses a portfolio of fan-facing products, core services, a subscription business, and content that serve fans and various business partners. This ongoing freelance role is on site in Inglewood, CA 4 days a week.


Responsibilities:


  • Oversee the full project lifecycle for Connected TV initiatives, from initial concept to post-launch enhancements.
  • Create comprehensive project plans, outlining timelines, resource needs, and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (such as engineering, UX/UI, and content) as well as external partners to ensure all key milestones are achieved.
  • Track and communicate project progress, addressing any challenges or obstacles that arise.
  • Ensure projects are completed on schedule and within the defined scope.
  • Guarantee alignment with the company’s strategic objectives, delivering exceptional user experiences.


Required Qualifications:


  • Solid understanding of Connected TV platforms, OTT services, and digital media technology.
  • Strong communication skills, able to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-moving and evolving environment.
  • Proactive mindset, helping keep teams focused and energized.
  • High emotional intelligence with a talent for building relationships.
  • Confident leadership, driving accountability across teams.
  • Flexibility to take on multiple roles as needed, addressing gaps in collaboration with leadership and key stakeholders.
  • Strong partnership with Product, Design, and Engineering teams to drive solutions forward.
  • Excellent facilitation skills, guiding cross-functional teams toward defined outcomes and executing on them.
  • Experienced in gathering and managing stakeholder feedback to refine business requirements.
  • Expertise in digital product launches, including redesigns and rebuilds, particularly for Connected TV.
  • Skilled in navigating differing team perspectives to reach alignment and decisions.
  • Effective decision-making, including managing upwards and holding others accountable to deadlines.
  • Solution-oriented with a willingness to learn from mistakes.
  • Adaptable communication skills, attuned to the audience and situation.
  • Collaborate with the PMO to deliver required documentation and planning details.
  • Partner with program management to ensure smooth coordination and role complementarity.
  • Manage vendor relationships, tracking work across multiple teams.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity, able to define and document requirements as needed.
  • Holds themselves accountable to the team, the PMO, and the broader department.
