ASSISTANT BUSINESS MANAGER

Continental Broadcast Group is Indiana's leading Spanish Radio Broadcaster. Delivering diverse marketing solutions & connecting businesses with Indiana's fastest growing consumer segment--Latinos. Serving central Indiana for over twenty years with 3 radio stations (WEDJ 107.1FM, WSYW 94.3FM, and WNTS 103.9FM), digital/social media, and large-scale promotional events. We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Business Manager to contribute to our continued success.
Role Description:
The Business Manager position reports to the General Manger. The position also reports to the Corporate office; and will be in contact with them on a regular basis; receiving support and guidance. The Business Manager will play a crucial role in supporting all financial and operational aspects of our organization. To thrive and be successful in this role, the ideal candidate should have strong communication and time management skills, provide superior customer service, be goal-driven, and have a professional and outgoing demeanor to interact with various clients, internal/external stakeholders, as well as collaborating with the Corporate office. The responsibilities of the Business Manager will include, but are not limited to:
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for monthly financial close, reconciliation of accounts and analysis of costs and explanation of variance to budget and actual.
- Reconciling of Accounts Receivable discrepancies between advertiser and station.
- Assist in preparation of financial reports, forecasts, cash flow and annual budget.
- Manage accounts payable, purchasing, payroll, cash receipts, petty cash, credit and collections, accounts receivable and billing activity.
- Assist General Manager and other Department heads as needed, monitor and counsel Department heads regarding financial responsibilities.
- Liaison between the station and regional/corporate office regarding business issues involving financial, personnel, legal, FCC regulations, etc.
- On-going improvement of accounting controls and other financial and administrative procedures.
Desired Skills/Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business or accounting, or equivalent work experience with 5-8 years progressive experience.
- Experience in business operations and supporting management
- Self-starter with ability to work independently and meet deadlines and management requests.
- Excellent organization and multi-tasking abilities.
- Experience in managing a collections process.
- Strong analytical skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and Microsoft Excel.
- Familiarity with industry-specific software and tools, specifically Marketron a plus.
