Job Summary

As GWY, LLC has achieved substantial growth, we seek to supplement the service and support provided by our main office with the skills and expertise of a Regional Technical Representative for the New England region. The successful candidate will support our existing customers as well as develop new customer relationships in their region, maintaining and growing our reputation for quality, dependability and technical expertise. We are looking for a hardworking, self-motivated and intelligent professional with a passion for collaborating with customers to deliver project-specific solutions that enable them to complete their projects simply and efficiently.


Responsibilities and Duties

  • Capture and manage customer information via our CRM system for future follow-up.
  • Develop sales leads by answering phone, fax and email inquiries.
  • Develop sales leads by researching, identifying & soliciting potential new accounts utilizing our various internal tools and subscriptions.
  • Achieve sales goals for your region.
  • Learn the technical details of our products and the applications for which they are used.
  • Learn how our products bring added efficiency to our customers & their projects.
  • Explore how our products can be used by customers in other industries.
  • Arrange for and provide demonstrations of equipment.
  • Develop relationships with customers by building rapport, providing technical information and explanations, and suggesting related and new items– the goal is to be their first call when they need assistance.
  • Identify areas where we can improve customer satisfaction and repeat business.
  • Willingness to travel (up to 50%). Frequently, travel is outside of the local area and overnight.


Qualifications

  • Must reside within New England.
  • Prospecting skills, technical understanding, building relationships, people skills, data entry skills, math skills, customer focus, professionalism and motivation for sales.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 3+ years of direct sales experience; phone & field based preferred.
  • Proven track record of hunting new business, creating marketing strategies and developing deep relationships in territory.
  • Excellent written & verbal communication skills and telephone manner.
  • Drive to continuously develop job knowledge & skills.
  • Ability to form strong, lasting relationships with project leadership.
  • Ability to explain complex bolting concepts in a practical and easy to understand manner.
  • Solid understanding of the steel building & bridge construction industry with the flexibility and openness to explore and develop relationships and knowledge of new industries.
  • Familiarity with Windows operating systems.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office.
  • Proficient with using social media to develop sales opportunities.
  • Ability to lift ≥ 50 lb.
