Our client is looking for an experienced Assistant Branch Manager to play a key role in supporting the branch’s operational success and enhancing the customer experience. This individual will work closely with the Branch Manager to ensure that daily operations run smoothly, contribute to team performance, and align with the branch’s strategic goals. The Assistant Branch Manager will be responsible for providing leadership, mentorship, and operational oversight while maintaining high service standards, fostering client relationships, and supporting business growth.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in monitoring branch performance and implementing strategies to meet organizational goals.
  • Address customer needs, resolve escalated issues, and ensure exceptional service.
  • Mentor and develop team members, providing guidance and professional growth opportunities.
  • Oversee daily branch operations to ensure efficiency and adherence to regulatory and company policies.
  • Foster strong client and community relationships to drive loyalty and business growth.
  • Identify business opportunities and collaborate to build partnerships in alignment with company objectives.
  • Participate in branch opening and closing procedures, ensuring security standards are upheld.
  • Act as the branch leader in the Branch Manager’s absence, overseeing operations and customer service.
  • Support compliance efforts, oversee operational reporting, and ensure adherence to policies and procedures.

Essential Functions:

  • Manage daily operations to ensure smooth workflow, cost efficiency, and profitability.
  • Conduct team huddles and communicate daily goals to align staff with branch objectives.
  • Onboard new team members, provide training, and ensure ongoing development.
  • Ensure operational security and compliance in all branch activities.
  • Act as the point of contact for escalated customer inquiries and resolve issues promptly.

Ancillary Functions:

  • Delegate tasks effectively among team members to maintain operational efficiency.
  • Provide performance feedback, conduct reviews, and address corrective actions when necessary.
  • Consistently offer coaching, recognition, and motivation to staff.
  • Administer personnel policies, including time and attendance, in accordance with company standards.
  • Support other departments and collaborate cross-functionally as needed.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish (required for Bronx location).
  • Bachelor's degree in Business or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in banking, with previous experience as an Assistant Branch Manager or Branch Manager.
  • Strong communication skills and interpersonal abilities.
  • In-depth knowledge of banking operations, products, and regulations.
  • Demonstrated leadership and management capabilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and moderate PC skills.

Physical Demands:

  • This position is primarily sedentary, but may require occasional lifting of up to 20 lbs.
  • Ability to work in an office environment with regular customer interaction.

Other Requirements:

  • Candidates must be comfortable commuting to the Bronx location.
  • Candidates must have previous experience in branch management or as an Assistant Branch Manager.
