An Event Services division in a company is looking for a full-time Audio Video Specialist Technician to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for those who excel with new technology and thrive in a dynamic team environment. Position reports to Director of Production.
The AV Specialist Technician role is to prevent and resolve technical issues, and to assist end users in accomplishing their business tasks. The candidate should be dependable, cooperative, and respectful to clients and co-workers.
Daily activities will involve the technical coordination of video display and video conference systems, with the occasional—and expected to increase—event production recording and webcasting of lectures, panels, and live events throughout the property's venues.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a team during its startup and have responsibilities progress as the location grows to its full potential, with theaters, meeting spaces, and exhibit halls producing galas and events as these venues become available.
Responsibilities:
- Provides facility-wide oversight of the Audio-Video (AV) and Video Conference (VC) setup efforts, including delivery, set-up, and testing of equipment, computers, microphones, video cameras, audio systems, and control systems.
- Communicates requirements to facility personnel for completion of requests; assists and educates staff about AV capabilities and proper usage, as needed.
- Seeks ways to improve existing workflow and implement new processes to achieve efficiencies and the highest quality service levels.
- Participates in usage data collection, open action items, equipment maintenance, and upcoming preventive maintenance schedules.
- Performs and/or oversees periodic maintenance as necessary to ensure the optimum functioning of equipment.
- Must be a self-starter, self-reliant, and can work independently and as part of a team.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Willingness to work outside standard business hours when necessary.
Requirements:
- 4+ years of Audio-Video experience in a professional services environment.
- Experience in setup, configuration, and connectivity of AV equipment.
- Knowledge of audio and video production tools such as laptops, video switchers, professional digital cameras, professional audio and video process equipment, wireless microphones, intercom, and related components.
- Ability to perform equipment testing and troubleshooting associated with hardware, software, or programming functions within the AV environment and determine if escalation or maintenance is required.
- Mac and Microsoft software operating systems and settings.
Helpful to the role experience, ability, or education:
- Experience in live event technical productions.
- Experience with Streaming Technologies and Live Event Video Capture and Distribution
- Knowledge of LED video wall display systems.
- Understanding the operation of a video broadcast switcher.
- Comprehension of digital audio mixers and audio signal flow.
- Experience with Video Conference equipment and control systems, including but not limited to Webex, Microsoft Teams, and Zoom.
- Prior supervisory experience.
- A professional attitude maintained while working under pressure.
- The ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Vectorworks Spotlight design software knowledge.
- OSHA-10 General Industry 29 CFR 1910 certification.
- Associate degree in Electronic Technical or Technical Theater or relevant certifications and work experience.
