Job Summary:
The Division Operations Manager for Electrical Construction leads and manages the operational activities of electrical construction projects within a designated division. This role involves strategic planning, coordination of resources, managing project teams, overseeing financial performance, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations. The manager will work closely with executive leadership, clients, and other stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery while optimizing efficiency and profitability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Management: Oversee multiple electrical construction projects from initiation to completion, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and specifications.
- Resource Allocation: Manage the allocation of human, material, and financial resources across projects to maximize efficiency.
- Team Leadership: Lead and mentor project managers, foremen, and other field staff, promoting collaboration and professional development.
- Client Relations: Serve as the primary point of contact for key clients, addressing concerns, managing expectations, and fostering long-term relationships.
- Financial Oversight: Monitor project budgets, analyze financial reports, and implement cost-saving measures while ensuring profitability.
- Quality Control: Ensure all projects comply with company quality standards, electrical codes, and safety regulations.
- Risk Management: Identify potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies to prevent delays and cost overruns.
- Operational Efficiency: Streamline processes and workflows to improve operational efficiency and project outcomes.
- Health & Safety Compliance: Enforce strict adherence to safety protocols and OSHA standards, promoting a safe work environment.
- Reporting: Provide regular reports to senior management on the status of projects, financial performance, and division operations.
- Business Development Support: Assist in identifying new business opportunities, preparing proposals, and expanding client relationships.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
- Experience: 7-10+ years of experience in electrical construction, with a minimum of 3-5 years in a management role.
- Technical Skills: Strong understanding of electrical systems, construction methods, building codes, and safety regulations.
- Management Skills: Proven leadership abilities in managing large teams, projects, and budgets.
- Financial Acumen: Experience with financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, and P&L analysis.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with clients, team members, and stakeholders.
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to make decisions in high-pressure situations.
- Software: Proficiency in construction management software, Microsoft Office Suite, and project scheduling tools such as Primavera or MS Project.
