Company Overview: A leading, publicly traded specialty insurance company seeks a seasoned Chief Underwriting Officer (CUO) to launch and lead a new property division, focusing on commercial residential apartments in Florida.
Division Overview:
• Develop, manage, and grow the division, focusing on commercial residential coverage in Florida.
• Primarily property insurance with limited general liability, emphasizing garden-style and mid-rise apartment complexes (up to 7 stories).
• Admitted business line serving properties with a Total Insured Value (TIV) between $5 million and $55 million, starting with TIVs of $5 million to $10 million in the first year.
• Geographic focus covers the entire state, including properties within a quarter mile of coastal areas.
Responsibilities and Qualifications:
• 10+ years of commercial residential property underwriting experience with a proven track record in property and limited GL coverage.
• 7+ years of management experience with expertise in pricing, product strategy, financial analysis, and actuarial considerations.
• Strong leadership and team-building skills with a history of effective relationship management.
• In-depth knowledge and experience within the Florida insurance market, including regulatory and environmental nuances, are highly preferred.
