Leadership Consulting

Like the broader firm, Ferguson Partners’ Leadership Consulting practice focuses on the real assets industry. Within real assets, our functional expertise includes supporting clients across all facets of the talent lifecycle at the individual and organizational level — from the largest institutional and publicly-owned firms to family-owned companies and private partnerships. Position Summary

The Leadership Consulting practice is expanding and searching for a Director based in Chicago or New York. The ideal candidate will leverage their IO psychology expertise. They will own the Ferguson Partners leadership capability framework, build and refine client-ready points of view, develop research, and evolve product and solutions. They will support team members in progressing identified client opportunities and primarily close (rather than generate) new business. Candidates with at least 7-10 years of relevant experience will find this role presents an excellent opportunity to drive career growth and impact within an entrepreneurial environment.


Responsibilities:

  • Build and manage content generation, thought leadership, and intellectual property
  • Use data, analytics, and expertise to identify and communicate strategic recommendations and improvement opportunities based on client needs and circumstances
  • Foster client relationships and represent Ferguson Partners’ Leadership Consulting services within the marketplace and within association and university partners
  • Conduct information gathering interviews, and synthesize key themes, takeaways, and implications
  • Supervise and conduct research and market studies
  • Participate in new business development efforts with other team members
  • Develop expertise in real estate, real assets, and related financial services industries
  • Maintain and improve internal systems, processes, and tools with a focus on overall efficiency
  • Write white papers and presentations
  • Mentor and grow Leadership Consulting team members


Qualifications

The most successful candidates will be naturally curious, self-motivated, resourceful, articulate, and be comfortable working within an entrepreneurial culture. Other qualifications include:

  • 7-10 years of professional experience in Leadership Consulting – Coaching, leadership assessments, selling, and delivering services
  • Advanced degree (Master’s, MBA or PhD) in a related field (i.e. I/O Psych, PsyD, Psychology, Business, etc.) required (PhD strongly preferred); Hogan certified
  • Prior experience developing programs for executive assessment and coaching
  • Excellent problem-solving and abstract reasoning skills
  • Hands-on doer who is focused on execution and results
  • Team player who is happy to wear many hats and pitch in where needed across the firm take on diverse projects
  • Thrive in ambiguous situations without a clear roadmap
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (both oral and written); comfort in communicating and engaging with executive leaders
  • Outstanding quantitative and qualitative analysis skillsets are required
  • Excellent attention to detail and time management skills
  • Prior experience managing and leading teams is preferred, but not required
  • Ability to travel 10-20% and remainder of the time in the office 2-3 days per week
