Lead Finance Analyst

Job Summary

The Lead Finance Analyst will serve as a Finance business partner to the Agriculture and Specialty Equipment Sales teams. This role will support the organization's business objectives by providing accounting and finance services. Responsibilities include performing general accounting and finance functions, conducting account reconciliations, preparing and presenting financial statements and analysis reports, analyzing actual results, and preparing "what if" analyses. The Lead Finance Analyst will also lead monthly analysis, forecasting, and the annual budgeting process for assigned areas of responsibility, while processing business transactions across various Finance functions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Partner with internal and external customers to lead and grow the business; drive analysis in assigned areas and prepare monthly results for management. Collaborate with other departments on complex business issues impacting financial projections.
  • Promote and attract optimal capital allocation for internal and external customers; develop and maintain budgets and forecasts. Guide and support appropriation requests for complex capital projects.
  • Communicate and drive opportunities to deliver best value for customers; partner with management in planning, measuring, and reporting on the performance of assigned areas. Identify opportunities to improve profitability through pricing or cost efficiency.
  • Drive the monthly close process for assigned areas and business segments, including account reconciliation and review of monthly financial reporting packages in compliance with the Corporate Accounting Policies and Procedures (CAPP) Manual.
  • Lead and mentor the Associate Financial Analyst.
  • Assist in managing and administering business systems and procedures. Lead activities to validate the effectiveness of new procedures and update Sarbanes-Oxley process documentation for changes affecting internal controls.
  • Develop customer-friendly systems, processes, and metrics; perform and supervise shared services tasks in accordance with standard work instructions. Monitor and track key operational benchmarks; lead root cause analysis and develop action plans as needed.
  • Champion People First competencies to engage, develop, and connect team members.
  • Identify and support continuous improvement projects using Continuous Improvement Management System (CIMS) tools and concepts; conduct advanced analysis in assigned business areas and develop innovative solutions that save time and resources.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration.
  • Six (6) or more years of relevant experience in accounting, finance, or treasury.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Two (2) or more years of experience in an FP&A role.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite: Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Familiarity with U.S. and international accounting regulations.
