About the Role: Netgroup Engineering is seeking a skilled Custom Transducer & Harness Technician to join our team on-site at VolvoGroup. This role involves providing engineering support for the Complete Vehicle (CV) department in the product development process. Working in the Volvo Instrumentation Lab, you will support test activities by manufacturing harnesses, creating custom transducers, and troubleshooting and repairing equipment.


Responsibilities:

  • Manufacture instrumentation and equipment harnesses to support internal verification and validation activities.
  • Apply basic electrical knowledge with a strong desire to learn and grow.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in soldering and operating tools and equipment necessary for the job.
  • Create, read, and update wiring diagrams according to company standards.
  • Build wiring harnesses following documented schematics and data sheets.
  • Assemble connectors and components per company standards.
  • Assist with sensor and harness repair as needed.
  • Verify the functionality of instrumentation by following documented procedures.
  • Ensure work quality aligns with testing application requirements.
  • Support internal 5S procedures to maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Exhibit a positive attitude and strong work ethic.
  • Work independently while supporting a challenging delivery schedule.


Education, Experience, Knowledge, and Skills Required:

  • Associate's Degree in Mechatronics or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent work experience.
  • Basic PC skills, including proficiency with MS Office tools.
  • 2 to 5 years of experience working with strain gauges, transducers, or harness manufacturing and repair.
  • Ability to develop skills in documenting wiring harness and power cable components (wires, cables, connectors, passives, brackets, and cable channels).
  • Experience developing custom gauge transducers, data acquisition system input cables, and harnesses based on requirements using CAD or MS-Visio tools.
  • Ability to design technical solutions, identify improvements, and propose new technical solutions.
  • Self-sufficient and capable of planning and executing tasks independently.
  • Demonstrates proactive engagement with learning opportunities and ongoing professional development.
  • Potential for long-term growth and development within the role.
