Our client, a top provider of systems and components for the aerospace and defense sectors, is seeking a Program Manager to join their Santa Barbara site.


As a Program Manager, you will be involved in all phases of the product lifecycle, from proposal and design to production and deployment. You'll manage programs, ensure contractual requirements are met, interface with industry and USG customers, and support new business proposals. Drive performance, monitor costs and schedules, and report program status to senior leaders.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance with contract requirements and manage all program activities.
  • Achieve program objectives within scope, schedule, and budget constraints.
  • Lead proposal teams and business capture efforts to grow the organization's portfolio.
  • Develop and monitor program plans and schedules, coordinating all program elements.
  • Track program costs, schedules, task completions, and deliveries, taking corrective actions as necessary.
  • Resolve issues through effective communication with customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Apply project management principles and processes to enhance program success.


Key Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in business management or a technical field (Master's preferred).
  • Over 5 years of program management experience in the aerospace/defense industry.
  • Experience managing large-scale, hardware-based programs.
  • Familiarity with quality and material control systems.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational and leadership abilities.
  • Knowledge of formal project management methodologies and tools.
  • Ability to obtain a US security clearance.
  • Experience with Earned Value Management.
