As a Technology Controls and Information Security Consultant, your role revolves around defining, developing, and implementing policies, programs, and tools related to technology controls and information security. You will provide specialized expertise and guidance to assess risks, identify potential gaps, and offer security solutions to safeguard the Bank. Additionally, you may participate in projects of moderate to high complexity, delivering comprehensive reporting, analysis, and assessments at various levels within the organization.


Job Details:

  • Required work locations include Charlotte, NC Ft. Lauderdale, FL or Cherry Hill, NJ
  • This role is being onboarded through 4-month contract to hire.
  • Compensation range is $100,000 to $140,000 (Hourly commiserate with salary) and includes competitive market benefits.


Customer Focus:

  • Provide consultation and advice to partners on a wide range of Technology Controls/Information Security programs, policies, standards, and incidents within your specialized area.
  • Conduct project consultations, assessing risks, defining necessary controls, evaluating control procedures, and conducting vulnerability assessments.
  • Lead or contribute to risk and control design assessments for application portfolios, articulating the impact of control gaps and formulating mitigation plans.
  • Contribute to the definition, development, and oversight of a global security management strategy and framework.
  • Ensure the presence of technology, processes, and governance to monitor, detect, prevent, and respond to both existing and emerging technology/security threats to the Bank.
  • Develop ongoing Technology Risk reporting, monitoring key trends, and defining metrics to measure control effectiveness within your area.
  • Collaborate proactively with technology partners, stakeholders, and service/platform owners to integrate all technology security components into the bank’s Enterprise Architecture.
  • Provide consultation on regulatory compliance requirements, reporting, and inquiries.
  • Support and consult in audit preparation, composing management responses, and coordinating appropriate remediation activities.
  • Participate in computer security incident responses relevant to business or enterprise-wide incidents, representing the respective function and Enterprise position to the incident response team.


Shareholder Engagement:

  • Adhere to internal policies, procedures, technology control standards, and applicable regulatory guidelines.
  • Contribute to internal process reviews, identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • Advise on, oversee, monitor, and enforce enterprise frameworks and methodologies related to technology controls/information security activities.
  • Influence behavior to minimize risk and promote a strong technology risk management culture throughout the enterprise.
  • Stay informed about emerging issues, industry trends, and regulatory changes.
  • Define, develop, implement, and manage standards, policies, procedures, and solutions to mitigate risk and enhance security, service availability, efficiency, and effectiveness.
  • Actively manage relationships with other areas of Technology, businesses, corporate and/or control functions, ensuring alignment with enterprise and regulatory requirements.
  • Assess and escalate key issues to appropriate levels and relevant stakeholders when necessary.
  • Maintain a culture of risk management and control, supported by effective processes and infrastructure aligned with risk appetite.
  • Participate in business-specific, cross-functional, or enterprise initiatives as a subject matter expert, aiding in risk identification and providing guidance.
  • Contribute to complex reporting, analysis, and assessments at the functional or enterprise level.

  • Possess expert knowledge of IT security and risk disciplines.
  • Demonstrate advanced knowledge of organization, technology controls, security, and risk issues.
  • May participate in complex, comprehensive, or large projects and initiatives.
  • Serve as a lead expert resource in technology controls/information security for project teams, the business/organization, and/or outside vendors.
  • Generally report to Senior Manager or above.
