Permit Coordinator

Terra Energy is on the lookout for a dynamic candidate to fill the role of Permit Coordinator. The chosen candidate will spearhead the compilation of all essential documents for permitting, handle application submissions, and secure building permits for the design of solar panel systems. Working closely with our in-house designers and local authorities, you'll assist in preparing and reviewing paperwork and drawings necessary for obtaining permits, while also addressing any objections from Building, Zoning, and Planning Departments that may arise. Keeping a steady flow of installations is also a key aspect of this role.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Showcasing an impeccable attention to detail and an innovative mindset to drive better outcomes.
  • Assessing the permit list to identify permits ready for issuance and submission.
  • Establishing communication with cities and counties regarding application processes, costs, and jurisdictional updates.
  • Completing permit applications and printing them as required.
  • Generating plans in line with Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) and Statement of Work (SOW) specifications, and coordinating payment processing with Accounting.
  • Electronically submitting plans.
  • Uploading approved plans and job cards, and notifying the installation department.
  • Uploading corrections and informing the design team.
  • Providing supervision and support to permit technicians, resolving issues as they arise.
  • Preparing and updating reports for Weekly Meetings.
  • Ensuring prompt submission of checks to Accounting.


Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in office or clerical roles is advantageous.
  • Self-motivated with a knack for thriving in a team environment.
  • Efficient workflow management skills, adept at multitasking.
  • Strong customer service abilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication prowess.
  • Consistent attendance track record.
  • Collaborative team player.
  • Regular participation in weekly webinars or departmental calls.
  • Efficient interdepartmental communication with a turnaround time of no more than 24 hours.
  • Timely submission of all designs completed by the design team within a 24-hour window.
  • Proficient in maintaining and submitting expense reports.


Preferred Skills:

  • Basic knowledge of office administration.
  • Familiarity with solar PV equipment and installation standards.
  • Understanding of residential electrical and structural systems.
  • Proficiency in both English and Spanish is advantageous.


Computer Skills:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Google Suite applications.
