This Opportunity

We are currently seeking an experienced Roadway Permit & RCI Manager to fill a full-time role based in the Miami Dade area.

Your Impact

  • Coordinate, process, administer, and inspect permits on roadways under Miami Dade Interstate AM Contract in FDOT District 6
  • Enter all permit-related data into the Department's permits tracking system.
  • Process all permits expeditiously as Florida Statutes and F.A.C. require, including utility, driveway, particular use, drainage, house moving, road closure, landscaping permits, and all necessary paperwork.
  • Track all permits and regularly report permit status to the Project Manager and client.
  • Interact with the permittee and the client in office and field environments as a company representative in providing information to FDOT.
  • Review plans submitted by the applicant for roadway, MOT, and right-of-way encroachment.
  • Field inspections to all construction activities resulting from approved permits on the roadways, structures, and facilities covered by this contract during and after the construction to ensure conformance with regulations and specifications.
  • Field verify the acceptability of the Contractor’s work methods and work products FDOT Approved.
  • Document field inspections inputting inspection results into the Department’s FDOT OneStop Permitting system and internal company system database daily.
  • Update and maintain permit information within FDOT OneStop Permitting and the internal company system database daily.
  • Ensure permittee adherence to approved permit requirements and Department regulations and standards.
  • Coordinate and attend all post-approval meetings and inspections. Obtain all project certifications and final (as-built) plans by department procedure/ FAC requirements. Electronically upload all programs into the DOT database.
  • Demonstrate good safety practices and establish work areas compliant with OSHA safety standards and procedures.
  • Read and interpret plans, specifications, design standards, and manuals.
  • Analyze, interpret, and plot survey data.
  • Communicate technical information effectively, verbally and in writing.
  • Able to operate a personal computer, smartphone, and electronic tablets proficiently.
  • Work in all environmental extremes such as heat, cold, rain, etc.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
  • Inspect field operations and create work orders in the company’s database.
  • Participate in the company on-call dispatch rotation.
  • Perform RCI’s Constructions and 5-Year Inspections and submit updated to the Department in accordance with FDOT procedures and RCI Handbook.
  • Track all RCI’s Inspections due dates and schedule accordingly.
  • Coordinate and keep track of all accepted construction project inside the contract limit and be able to maintain FDOT credentials properly.
  • Lane closure permit review for the contract.
  • Able to request lane closure permit to the department for routine and structural maintenance work.

Required Qualifications

  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Minimum three (3) years of roadway maintenance/construction experience.
  • The ability to communicate effectively in English (verbally and in writing).
  • Perform mathematical calculations and inspect maintenance contract projects.
  • Advanced knowledge and experience with Microsoft software suite. (ex. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Obtain a valid and current Advanced MOT certification.
  • Must be authorized to work in the US or will be authorized by the successful candidate’s start date.
