Position Summary: We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Entry-Level Plant Safety Engineer to join our safety team. This is an excellent chance to build your resume working for a manufacturing company. The successful candidate will assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of safety programs to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and promote a culture of safety within our plant operations.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in conducting safety inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with OSHA, ANSI, NFPA, and other relevant regulations.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of safety policies, procedures, and training programs.
  • Support incident investigations, including root cause analysis and the development of corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Assist in maintaining safety records, preparing reports, and analyzing safety data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to promote and enforce safety standards and practices.
  • Participate in safety meetings and provide recommendations for continuous improvement in safety performance.
  • Conduct safety training sessions for employees, contractors, and visitors.
  • Assist in the implementation of emergency response plans and conduct safety drills.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Occupational Health and Safety, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and standards (e.g., OSHA, ANSI, NFPA).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Attention to detail and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • EHS background required in the manufacturing or automotive industry


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Relevant internships or co-op experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
  • OSHA certification or other relevant safety certifications (e.g., CSP, CIH, SMS).
