Vice President of Sales

Company Overview: Our client is a leading distributor of fruits and vegetables, with an annual revenue more than $100 million. We pride ourselves on providing high-quality, fresh produce to our customers and maintaining strong relationships with our suppliers. We are looking for a dynamic and experienced Vice President of Sales to lead our sales team and drive our growth strategy.
Position Summary: The Vice President of Sales will be responsible for developing and executing the company's sales strategy to achieve revenue targets and market expansion goals. This role requires a strategic thinker with a deep understanding of the produce industry, strong leadership skills, and a proven track record of driving sales growth. The VP of Sales will report directly to the CEO and work closely with other senior leaders to ensure the company's success.
Key Responsibilities:
1 Strategic Sales Leadership:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive sales strategy that aligns with the company's overall business objectives.
- Identify new market opportunities and customer segments to drive growth.
- Set ambitious sales targets and ensure the team is equipped to meet them.
2 Team Management:
- Lead, mentor, and develop the sales team, fostering a high-performance culture.
- Establish clear performance metrics and provide regular feedback and coaching.
- Recruit and onboard top sales talent to build a strong and capable team.
3 Customer Relationship Management:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers and partners.
- Ensure customer satisfaction and address any issues or concerns promptly.
- Develop and implement strategies to enhance customer loyalty and retention.
4 Market Analysis and Business Development:
- Conduct thorough market analysis to stay informed about industry trends, competitor activities, and customer needs.
- Identify and pursue new business development opportunities.
- Develop and present sales forecasts, budgets, and reports to the executive team.
5 Collaboration and Communication:
- Collaborate with other departments, including marketing, operations, and finance, to ensure alignment and support for sales initiatives.
- Communicate sales performance, challenges, and opportunities to the executive team regularly.
- Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and conferences.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field; MBA preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of sales experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role
- Proven track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets.
- Strong understanding of the supply chain and distribution channels.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to analyze data and make informed decisions.
- Proficiency in CRM software and sales analytics tools.
- Willingness to travel as needed.
