Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent required from an accredited institution.
  • At least 4 years of experience in Information Technology
  • Working knowledge of DOCSIS based platforms and services
  • WAN or Metro Network Design and Architecture background
  • In depth understanding of Control Plane and Data Plane traffic
  • Solid understanding of IPv4, IPv6, Multicast, Unicast and QOS
  • Solid understanding of IP routing (BGP) and switching (STP, L2CP, Vlans)


Preferred Qualifications:

  • MEF – knowledge of the standards set by the Metro Ethernet Forum
  • Ethernet Services – Internet, Point-to-Point and Multi-Point services
  • Working knowledge of – EDI, EPL, EVPL, ENS and E-Tree
  • In depth understanding of Control Plane and Data Plane traffic
  • Versed in testing protocols – y.1564, RFC2544 and y.1731 (OAM)
  • Specific knowledge of Ciena, Juniper, Nokia & Cisco routers and switches

Background in programming, scripting and API experience
