General Summary:

The Print Marketing Specialist is responsible for the development and execution of various marketing programs. This position will partner with cross functional teams within marketing, merchandising, store ops, pricing and other areas of the company to drive and execute marketing programs and deliver to the stores. The individual will have duties related to ensuring the accurate production of marketing and print materials driving promotional initiatives. The specialist will be required to collaborate with internal and external partners to drive promotions. The Specialist, In-Store Marketing is responsible for contributing to development of marketing strategies and programs and leading projects as assigned. This position is responsible for embracing Family Dollar’s store-centric commitment to customers, customer service and sales through flawless execution and continuous improvements.


Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

  1. Lead end to end print production process for various customer facing sign projects for store tests and one-off project requests. Responsible for end-to-end project from inception and design and layout and printing.
  2. Develop in-store signage and programs to support various retail seasons and holidays. Create timeline for the execution and creation of the marketing materials and partner with project manager, merchants and marketing leadership on approval and on-time in-store delivery of the materials.
  3. Support the in-store marketing process for special initiatives including all store formats.
  4. Manage the Marketing Mailbox help desk to assist stores by answering questions and fulfilling requests.
  5. Develop and coordinate marketing materials for Store Associate facing communications.
  6. Partner with Store operations to author store communications and create promotional signage to support Smart Coupons, seasonal programs, and targeted test initiatives. Collaborate with store operations and merchants to gain alignment and approvals.
  7. Develop and keep accurate records of store and location list and the communication of the lists to internal parties as needed.
  8. Monitor and track the distribution of signage from printer to stores for various marketing collateral and vehicles.
  9. Cross train with key positions within marketing, specifically on the in-store team to build bench strength and gain strategic knowledge of the company and marketing department.
  10. Other duties as assigned.


Minimum Requirements:

Education: BA or BS with concentration in Marketing, finance or Business required;


Experience: 5 or more years in a marketing role or retail capacity and/or equivalent experience


Job Related Skills: Attention to detail; Excellent communication, both verbal and written; ability to manage projects through the life cycle; ability to build and maintain cross functional partnerships; ability to learn and utilize new processes and new technology; ability to conduct and ROI analysis; ability to present to senior leadership; strong organizational and priority setting skills.


Computer Skills: Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word required; some knowledge of Microsoft Access a plus; some exposure to retail software systems a plus
