Spencer Ogden is supporting one of our clients, a 100% employee-owned EPC, in their search for a project controls specialist to sit out of their client's office in Union, NJ. The Project Controls Specialist will be responsible for leading the project controls processes with the internal project management team to execute project deliverables within budget and schedule.


This position is more on the cost-focused side, and this individual will be responsible for forecasting, financial analysis, accruals, cost analysis, and other related tasks for capital construction projects.


** Candidates must be local to Union, NJ & be willing to be in office 5 days a week **


Key Responsibilities:

  • Set up projects in the Enterprise Planning & Controls software.
  • Analyze data, review logs, and generate reports.
  • Create and manage Work Breakdown Structures (WBS).
  • Develop and maintain cost reports, cash flows, and forecasts.
  • Manage engineering, procurement, and construction planning, scheduling, logistics, and cost control.
  • Serve as a point of contact for technical questions.
  • Approve Purchase Orders and Subcontracts for proper coding.
  • Document changes to cost reports or forecasts.
  • Review change orders and develop cash flow reports.
  • Conduct material takeoffs and quality checks.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, or related field with 3+ years of project controls experience (or equivalent experience).
  • Experience with Oracle Primavera P6 preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience with Power BI
