Position Summary

The Sr Survey/Scan Tech is responsible for the planning and organizing of Survey/scanning requirements for projects. Works under a survey lead and provides support to the project team to ensure the project’s defined goals and objectives are accomplished within the prescribed timeframe and funding parameters. Duties shall include the development of discipline man-hour estimates.


Qualifications

  • 5+ years experience in the industrial surveying / 3D laser Scanning.
  • TWIC Card
  • Experience with 3D laser scanning registration software.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Individuals must have the ability to read and comprehend Business Development documents (e.g. Invitations to Bid, Requests for Proposal, Requests For Quote, etc.), project management documents (e.g. Scopes of Work, Project Execution Plans, Cost and Status Reports, Estimates, etc.) safety documents (e.g. safety plans, Safe Plans of Action, Safety Manuals, etc.), discipline-specific vendor documents, instructions, Client or CDI correspondence, and memos.
  • In-depth understanding of the interdependence and relationship between various Project Management, Engineering and Design disciplines is required.
  • Experience with Autodesk Recap is preferred but not required.
  • Experience with Z+F Laser and FARO scanners is required.
  • Experience with Faro Scene and/or Lieca Cyclone Registure 360 required.
  • Experience with Laica Total stations is required.


Responsibilities

Safety:

Ensure that their individual work habits and methods, as they affect personal and design safety, are addressed as part of their daily tasks.

Ensure that all CDI and Client safety standards are followed, and all orientations and training are kept up to date.

Technical:

Have an expert understanding of Industrial surveying techniques. Have an expert understanding of 3D laser scanning and procedures used to obtain quality 3D laser scans. Have a full understanding of the limitations associated with 3D laser scanning. Accurately develop time estimates for the required survey and scan activities for a project. Advanced understanding of dimension control.
