Position Overview

The Lead Surveying Technician is responsible for executing land surveys to ascertain the positioning and measurements of various points, elevations, line areas, and contours for purposes such as construction, cartography, land division, and title verification.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct field operations on civil engineering, construction, and general surveying assignments, which include topographic surveys, ALTA surveys, boundary surveys, Right of Way surveys, As-built surveys, Flood Elevation Certifications, and Lot Surveys.
  • Maintain precise documentation, records, and sketches to accurately reflect the work completed.
  • Set stakes at specified locations and secure them into the ground.
  • Utilize and care for equipment, which may include tablet computers, digital cameras, survey-grade GPS units, robotic total stations, and other measuring instruments.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent G.E.D.
  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience is preferred.
  • Proficient in reading and understanding instructions, correspondence, and memos.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record as per company insurance standards.

Physical Demands

  • Must be able to work approximately 95% of the time outdoors.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods, traverse various terrains while carrying equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Capability to work in adverse weather conditions.
  • Some travel may be necessary.
