Position: Patient Benefits Representative (Bilingual)
Duration: 3 month c2h
Working Hours: M-F 8:30-5 PM
Pay Rate: $21-23
Must Haves:
- Proven work experience as a Patient Benefit Representative or similar role in a healthcare setting (2 years)
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.
- Familiarity with medical terminology and healthcare procedures.
- Proficiency in using healthcare management software and office equipment.
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification in healthcare administration is a plus.
- Knowledge of CPT Coding and HCPS Coding Application
- Proficient in computer systems such as Microsoft Office
- Experience educating patients on financial coverages and plans
Plusses:
- Experience with medical electronic systems such as Athena IDX (health billing system) or G2 Iknowmed (EMR)
- Bilingual
Job Summary: We are seeking a dedicated and empathetic Patient Benefit Representative to join the Texas Oncology team. The ideal candidate will be the first point of contact for patients, ensuring they receive the best possible care and assistance with their healthcare benefits. This role involves a mix of administrative tasks and patient interaction, requiring excellent customer service skills and a compassionate attitude.
Responsibilities:
- Greet and check in patients upon arrival.
- Answer patient inquiries in person and over the phone.
- Schedule and reschedule patient appointments.
- Process patient admissions and discharges.
- Collect and verify patient insurance information.
- Handle billing and coordinate with insurance providers to resolve payment issues.
- Maintain accurate patient records and ensure patient confidentiality.
- Provide necessary assistance and information to patients regarding medical procedures and benefits.
- Address patient complaints and concerns, ensuring patient satisfaction.
- Perform general administrative tasks such as filing, photocopying, and faxing documents.
- Educate Patients on insurance coverage and benefits including: co-pays, deductibles, out-of-pocket expenses and financial assistant programs
