  • Schedule and reschedule patient appointments, ensuring seamless coordination.
  • Process patient admissions and discharges, maintaining accurate records and ensuring patient confidentiality.
  • Collect and verify patient insurance information, resolving any issues promptly.
  • Handle billing and coordinate with insurance providers to resolve payment issues, ensuring timely resolution.
  • Maintain accurate patient records, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Provide necessary assistance and information to patients regarding medical procedures and benefits, including co-pays, deductibles, and out-of-pocket expenses.
  • Address patient complaints and concerns, ensuring patient satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Perform general administrative tasks, such as filing, photocopying, and faxing documents, with efficiency and accuracy.
  • Educate patients on insurance coverage and benefits, including financial assistant programs, to ensure informed decision-making.
Requirements:
  • Proven work experience as a Patient Benefit Representative or similar role in a healthcare setting (2 years).
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills, with the ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology and healthcare procedures, with the ability to communicate complex information to patients.
  • Proficiency in using healthcare management software and office equipment, with the ability to learn new systems quickly.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification in healthcare administration is a plus.
  • Knowledge of CPT Coding and HCPS Coding Application, with the ability to apply this knowledge in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient in computer systems such as Microsoft Office, with the ability to learn new software quickly.
  • Experience educating patients on financial coverages and plans, with the ability to communicate complex information clearly.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with medical electronic systems such as Athena IDX (health billing system) or G2 Iknowmed (EMR).
  • Bilingual (Spanish), with the ability to communicate effectively with patients from diverse backgrounds.
