Title: Production Planner

Duration: Direct Hire, Full-Time

Location: Niles, IL

Note: First 90 Days Fully Onsite, Hybrid After (3 days onsite, 2 days remote)

Compensation: $60k-$70K Annually + Benefits


Responsibilities:

  • Analyze customer specifications from Sales to determine the most efficient production methods.
  • Enter specifications into the Estimating system (Monarch) to generate preliminary pricing estimates.
  • Source vendors and solicit quotations for outside services and materials.
  • Evaluate vendor quality and negotiate to obtain the best price.
  • Manage the purchase of materials and services via purchase orders (Monarch).
  • Synchronize project completion with Scheduling, Account Management, and Sales.
  • Confirm timely delivery of final products/services and verify vendor invoices.
  • Estimate and establish costs for alteration requests, ensuring proper documentation.
  • Prepare management reports regarding job cost analysis, vendor reviews, and final job estimates.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the manager.
  • Adhere to all Security Policies and Procedures as referenced in the Employee Security Handbook.


Requirements:

  • 2 – 5 years of experience in vendor management and estimating in the direct mail printing/ Lettershop industry.
  • Good comprehension of technical and mechanical aspects of producing direct mail pieces.
  • Excellent computer skills, especially in spreadsheet development and manipulation (Microsoft Office preferred).
  • Excellent oral and written communication, as well as interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of ePS Monarch or other enterprise-wide project management systems.
  • Superior analytical and mathematical skills.
  • Strong negotiating skills and the ability to multitask.
  • Familiarity with the electronic prepress process, including proofing and print quality.
