Our client is seeking a Tax Manager to join their growing team. This is a full-time / permanent position with a direct client of Aprio Talent Solutions.
Client Industry: Financial Services
Role/Title: Tax Manager
Location: Seguin, TX (can also be San Antonio, TX but must be close enough to travel to Seguin for client meetings)
Onsite / Hybrid: 5 days per week during peak season / Hybrid during non-peak season.
Salary: Flexible based on experience and candidate requirements

Position Overview
This is an experienced member of the tax team. Responsible for preparing/completing and reviewing tax returns and conferring with clients on tax-related matters.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepares various tax returns and conducts research as needed.
- Reviews staff work and provides guidance as needed.
- Represents clients with IRS, State or local tax compliance issues.
- Applies knowledge of GAAP and client financial statements to tax preparation.
- Develops and maintains strong relationships with clients through ongoing communication and exceptional service.
- Expected to achieve 1300 – 1400 billable hours at 92% realization.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field required.
- Masters degree in Accounting or Taxation preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years tax experience.
- CPA or EA certificate required; or pending certificate with an MBA or MST.
- Expert in 1040 preparation and review; being able to provide complex tax planning.
- Expert in accounting principles for $100mm revenue or smaller passthrough entities.
- Ability to make AJEs, RJEs, FJEs, and STJEs based on logic without prior year or supervision.
- Ability to set-up a tax return in tax software from scratch and apply automation for the next year.
- Expected to manage a full client book while onboarding additional clients.
- Ability to have strategic tax conversations with clients.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and tax regulations at the federal, state and local levels.
