Position Overview

The Senior Accountant will play a key role in the financial management and reporting of the company. This individual will be responsible for overseeing and managing the day-to-day accounting activities, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP, conducting audits, and providing tax support. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting and finance, with a thorough understanding of GAAP principles and experience with audits and tax preparation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage all accounting activities, including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger entries, and journal entries
  • Ensure accuracy and compliance with GAAP principles and company policies
  • Conduct regular audits of financial processes and procedures, identifying areas for improvement
  • Provide tax support, including preparation and filing of tax returns and responding to tax inquiries or audits
  • Prepare and analyze financial statements, budgets, and forecasts
  • Manage and train junior accounting staff, providing guidance and support as needed
  • Collaborate with other departments to provide financial insights and support decision-making processes
  • Stay updated on accounting regulations and changes in tax laws, making recommendations for adjustments as needed

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in accounting or finance, preferably in a senior or managerial role
  • Strong understanding of GAAP principles and experience with audits and tax preparation
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is a plus
