Position Overview

The Staff Accountant is responsible for maintaining financial records to track the organization's assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liabilities, and other related financial activities. This role requires strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.


Summary of Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Participate in special projects and process improvements.
  • Maintain organized and accurate records.
  • Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions.
  • Ensure timely and accurate payment of invoices.
  • Conduct regular reconciliations of accounts payable and receivable.
  • Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts.
  • Prepare and post journal entries for month-end close.
  • Ensure accuracy of financial statements in accordance with GAAP and compliance to internal policies.
  • Monthly Account Reconciliations
  • Assist in the preparation of financial reports such as financial statements, budget performance, and interim reports.
  • Compile and analyze financial information to prepare entries to accounts, such as general ledger accounts, and document business transactions.
  • Support VP of Finance in various tasks as needed


Required Skills:

  • High degree of accuracy and thoroughness
  • Strong sense of ethics and reliability.
  • Excellent communication abilities.
  • Experience with Quickbooks Online preferred.
  • Experience using a cloud based payroll system (Gusto, ADP, Paychex, ect..) preferred.


Education:

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.


Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
