Smoky Hill Engineering, LLC is a Colorado-based civil and structural engineering consulting company. Our staff members are highly skilled and experienced Professional Engineers (PEs) with licenses to practice in most states. We provide services to a broad range of industries. Our clientele includes developers, small- and large-scale contractors, builders, EPC companies, architect offices, public agencies, and power companies. Smoky Hill Engineering has an opening for a Civil/Structural Engineer for our ongoing projects.


Responsibilities

The Civil/Structural Engineer will be responsible for designing and analyzing concrete and steel structures according to specifications, codes, and client design criteria. The Civil/Structural Engineer will work with our design team on existing and new projects.

The following are the requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in structural engineering or civil engineering with a structural emphasis.
  • Minimum of one year experience in structural analysis and design of steel and concrete structures.
  • Able to use geotechnical reports and recommendations for foundation and pavement design.
  • E.I./E.I.T. licensure or recent completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering Exam and plans to obtain a P.E. license
  • Experience working with AutoCAD Civil 3D, Revit, BIM, Staad Pro/other FEM software, and Mathcad.
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and with geographically dispersed teams.
  • Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with project team members and clients.
  • Attention to detail, accuracy, and completeness.
  • Willingness to work as part of a project team in an environment that encourages self-initiative.
  • Available for site visits and inspections.
