Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Structural Design Engineer to join our team at Diamond Ridge Construction. The successful candidate will be responsible for applying and learning engineering design methodologies, using in-house engineering software, and performing engineering design for components and connections.

Key Responsibilities
  • Apply and learn engineering design methodologies
  • Use in-house engineering software
  • Perform engineering design for components and connections
  • 3D finite element modeling of components
  • 3D modeling of structures under senior staff guidance
  • Document preparation in CAD and BIM environments
  • Manage staff to successfully perform assigned tasks
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Architectural, Civil, or Structural Engineering
  • Masters degree preferred or equivalent work- and industry-related experience
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) or licensed Structural Engineer (SE) in the state of Illinois
  • 3+ years of diverse project experience in building design

  • Solid understanding of structural analysis/design fundamentals
  • 3D finite element analysis
  • Diaphragm analysis and design
  • Snow, seismic, and wind analysis and design
  • Structural integrity requirements
  • Current building and material codes
  • Commercially available office software
