Accounts Payable Specialist

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounts Payable Clerk for a two-month assignment to assist with a large-scale vendor onboarding project. The primary responsibility will be to help onboard vendors by making calls, collecting necessary information, and ensuring all vendor data is accurately entered into our system. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks within tight deadlines. Prior experience in accounts payable and vendor management is highly preferred.


Location: Newton, PA

Pay: $18-$21/hr.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Contact vendors to gather required onboarding information and documentation.
  • Review payable invoices for accuracy, ensuring they match purchase orders, and correspond with vendors to resolve discrepancies.
  • Properly code and enter invoices into the system, ensuring accurate posting to the general ledger.
  • Batch and process invoices, preparing both manual and computer-generated checks for payment.
  • Assist in month-end report generation to ensure all outstanding invoices are accounted for.
  • Maintain organized records of invoices and payments.
  • Collaborate with the accounts payable team on any additional tasks, including data entry for journal entries.


Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED, with 0-4 years of experience in accounts payable.
  • Strong attention to detail and data entry skills, with the ability to maintain accuracy under deadlines.
  • Proficiency in vendor management or accounts payable software.
  • Excellent communication skills, particularly when dealing with vendors.
  • Organizational skills for maintaining accurate records and supporting month-end processes.
