NextGen Federal Systems, LLC (NextGen) is seeking a Mission Support Lead to support Department of Homeland Security, Customs and Border Protection, Office of Acquisition (OA). The ideal candidate is has demonstrated strong managerial experience organizing, planning, directing, and managing contractor staff, providing leadership, guidance, and vision. The Mission Support Division (MSD) Lead and contractor staff will support the OA Chief of Staff with required MSD daily administrative, human resources, and on-site technology support. The MSD will work with Enterprise Services Chief of Staff to provide enterprise products and services to OA employees in both Washington D.C. and Indianapolis, IN.


Location: Washington DC (Hybrid Work Schedule)


Responsibilities

  • Serves as the OA Executive Secretariat for correspondence, taskers, Congressional Questions for the Record and Congressional Reports, supporting and providing responses to Government Accounting Office and Office of Inspector General audit requests, and processing Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests.
  • Partners with and provides guidance to Administration, Human Resources, and Technology Support business leaders and internal and external contractor team to help identify, evaluate, and solve OA enterprise requirements.
  • Leads a team of talented contractor individuals, providing guidance and leadership in support of OA Mission Support Division daily operations.
  • Works with Enterprise Services Chief of Staff to provide enterprise products and services to OA employees in both Washington D.C. and Indianapolis, IN
  • Assesses business requirements and skills required for Mission Support positions, assisting the CSS Program Manager in ensuring appropriate manpower
  • Establishes trust through long term candid engagement with OA leadership
  • Communicates with executive level leadership to ensure needs are met and rapid adjustments are made when required.
  • Sets a positive, professional, and energetic tone in the workplace


Qualifications

  • Project Management Professional Certified
  • Master’s degree in management, business, or related field
  • Minimum 7 years of demonstrated experience organizing, planning, directing and managing contractor staff at a headquarters level
  • Proficient using MS Office Suite of applications (e.g., MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project)
  • Possess strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Current Top-Secret clearance or current DHS BI highly desired.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a suitability determination after a CBP Background Investigation (BI).
