Our client is a global leader in Engineering and R&D services. They have a 1000+ patents and a 100+ innovation and R&D for the global top 100 ER&D spenders. Our client’s expertise in engineering design, product development, smart manufacturing, and digitalization touches every area of human life. They specialize in disruptive technology in Communication – 5G, Artificial Intelligence, Collaborative Robots, Digital Factory, and Autonomous Transport. Our client delivers value through Digital Engineering.


Candidates must showcase a track record of driving and coordinating sales initiatives in an industrial product setting, with a bonus for expertise in industrial automation and system integration. This role would require close management of existing and new clients in the engineering and manufacturing space within the state of Ohio. It would involve a fair amount of travel to client locations and offices for opportunity identification and scoping.


Role and Responsibilities:

  • Manage and grow existing accounts by identifying cross sell and scope enhanced opportunities
  • Originate and build relationships with new accounts for primary and associated opportunities
  • Contributes to meeting team, sales and market plans by retaining and growing profitable customer relationships
  • Maintain a high level of knowledge and prepare regular reports on new technology, new markets in the region, competitor landscape analysis, trends, customers’ CAPEX cycles and environment
  • Develop, and maintain an active sales funnel of potential clients and prospects and update daily in CRM system
  • Engage with the client on technical level to understand the client’s specific requirements and then in turn be able to present viable solutions
  • Work in partnership with Applications Engineering and other engineering groups, and supply chain to devise and present the optimum manufacturing/automation solution for clients


Candidate profile

  • Bachelor’s degree (in a technical field would be preferred)
  • Required experience in both selling Capital Equipment and Custom Automated Machinery
  • Experience in Custom Automation Industry would be an added advantage
  • Proven track record of successful experience in account management and sales in Automated Assembly, turnkey production systems and CPG
  • Experience within medical, consumer products, defense, electronics and commercial industrial products and device manufacturing would be beneficial
  • Ability to understand customer requirements and develop strategies for meeting those needs
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with customers and internal teams
  • 15 to20 years of successful and verifiable experience of strategic selling and negotiation skills in “solution and systems sales” of high value capital equipment and/or industrial automation
  • Must be willing to travel extensively and have good geographical knowledge of the location
  • Technical proficiency using the Microsoft Office Suite
