Our client is a leading construction firm specializing in heavy civil construction projects across the Bay Area. They are seeking an experienced and dynamic Heavy Civil Project Manager to join their team and lead their projects to success.


Position Overview: As a Heavy Civil Project Manager based out of Oakland, CA, you will be responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and completion of large-scale civil construction projects. You will manage project teams, coordinate with clients, and ensure that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality and safety.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage heavy civil construction projects, including roads, highways, bridges, and utility infrastructure.
  • Develop and manage project budgets, schedules, and resources to ensure timely and cost-effective project delivery.
  • Coordinate with clients, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to ensure clear communication and alignment on project goals and expectations.
  • Monitor project progress, identify potential risks, and implement mitigation strategies to ensure successful project outcomes.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, quality standards, and environmental requirements.
  • Prepare and present project reports, including financial performance, schedule status, and risk assessments, to senior management and clients.
  • Mentor and develop project team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Project Manager overseeing heavy civil construction projects.
  • Proven track record of managing projects such as road, highway, bridge, and utility work.
  • Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and regulations specific to heavy civil projects.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and adapt to changing priorities.
  • PMP or similar certification is a plus.
