Women Palante is a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering migrant women and mothers by equipping them with tools to achieve economic independence and enhance their well-being. With a presence in Washington D.C., Montgomery, and Maryland, the organization leads initiatives that promote entrepreneurship, well-being, and personal development, facilitating the economic and social integration of beneficiaries within their local communities.


The Mompreneurs program is the flagship initiative of Women Palante. It aims to support migrant mothers in launching and strengthening sustainable businesses by providing entrepreneurship training, leadership development, and a science-based, holistic approach that equips participants with resources to improve their well-being.


Contract Duration


7 months full time, with a contract of services and with the possibility of extension based on performance and future projects.


Job Objective


The Program Coordinator will be responsible for leading the planning, execution, and monitoring of the Mompreneurs program across Washington D.C. and Montgomery County. The role ensures that the program aligns with Women Palante’s strategic objectives and donor requirements, maximizing the impact on the migrant women community. The Coordinator will also manage necessary resources and collaborate with strategic partners to ensure the program's success.


Duties and Responsibilities

Program Planning and Execution

● Develop and implement the program’s activity schedule, ensuring active participation from beneficiaries.

● Coordinate workshops, training sessions, and special events, guaranteeing high-quality content delivery.

● Oversee and support the registration process, from application to final selection.

● Ensure that tools and resources are available for each program session.


Supervision and Monitoring

● Monitor participants' progress and provide individualized follow-up.

● Identify risks and areas for improvement in program execution.

● Conduct surveys and impact evaluations to measure participant performance and satisfaction.


Resource Management

● Allocate and manage human, financial, and technical resources for efficient program implementation.

● Collaborate with the administrative team to optimize budget utilization.

● Supervise volunteers, ensuring they receive appropriate training to support the program.


Community Engagement and Partnerships

● Develop and strengthen partnerships with community organizations, businesses, and educational entities to enhance program outcomes.

● Lead recruitment activities in diverse communities to ensure continuous participant enrollment.

● Represent Women Palante at events and meetings to expand the network of strategic partners.


Financial Management and Reporting

● Prepare and manage the Mompreneurs program budget to ensure proper execution.

● Oversee the procurement of materials required for the program.

● Identify additional funding opportunities and assist in preparing proposals to secure resources.

● Produce progress reports and final impact evaluations demonstrating the program’s effectiveness.


Other Responsibilities

● Perform additional tasks assigned by the Women Palante leadership to ensure program quality and continuity.


Candidate Profile

Academic Qualifications

● Degree in Business Administration, Education, or related fields.


Languages

● Fluency in English and Spanish, both written and spoken.


Experience

● Experience in managing social programs or projects, ideally focused on entrepreneurship or women’s empowerment.

● Knowledge of business development, financial education, and well-being strategies.

● Experience working with migrant communities and multicultural environments is highly desirable.


Skills and Competencies

● Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

● Ability to coordinate diverse teams and work collaboratively with empathy.

● Creativity and proactivity in problem-solving.

● Strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.


Work Conditions

● Mode: On-site in Washington D.C. and Montgomery County. Regular travel between both locations is required.


● Schedule: 40 hours per week, flexible to meet program needs. Participation in Saturday wellness sessions will be required.

● Holidays: The position follows the Eastern Standard Time (EST) work calendar.


Additional Requirements

● Maintain regular communication with leadership via email and other channels.
