Metals Recycling Manager Responsibilities:

  1. Operations Management: Oversee the day-to-day operations of the facility, including material processing, equipment maintenance, and workflow optimization.
  2. Team Leadership: Manage and lead a diverse team, ensuring effective communication, training, and development opportunities for all staff.
  3. Safety and Compliance: Ensure compliance with all environmental regulations and safety standards. Conduct regular safety audits and implement corrective actions as necessary.
  4. Quality Control: Monitor and maintain the quality of processed materials, ensuring they meet industry standards and customer specifications.
  5. Cost Management: Develop and manage the facility's budget, focusing on cost-effective operations while maximizing profitability.
  6. Customer Relations: Maintain strong relationships with suppliers and customers, ensuring high levels of satisfaction and long-term partnerships.
  7. Continuous Improvement: Implement continuous improvement strategies to enhance operational efficiency, reduce waste, and increase recycling rates.
  8. Reporting and Documentation: Prepare and present regular reports on facility performance, challenges, and opportunities to senior management.


Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a managerial role
  • 2 plus years scrap metal experience required
  • Strong knowledge of recycling processes, material handling, and environmental regulations.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Proven track record in improving operational efficiency and safety performance.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and industry-specific software.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
