Baltimore, United States The SEED School of Maryland Full time

SCHOOL PROFILE

The SEED School of Maryland (“SEED”) is a statewide, public, college-preparatory boarding school that

opened in August 2008. The school has enrolled 400 students in grades 6-12. The SEED School provides an extraordinary educational opportunity for students across the state to receive a tuition-free, college-preparatory,

boarding education.

The SEED School of Maryland combines a rigorous and engaging academic curriculum with life skills and enrichment activities to provide students with a balanced learning and living experience. Students and their families commit to a seven-year educational program that offers small class sizes, high quality teaching and learning experiences, mentoring, community service, and extracurricular activities such as sports and arts.

The SEED School is centered around its core values: compassion, self-discipline, integrity, respect for oneself and others, responsibility, honesty, and self-determination. SEED staff partner with parents, families, and community members to guide and support student success. SEED follows a typical academic school year calendar.

ABOUT EXTERNAL OPPORTUNITIES

At The SEED School of Maryland defines External Opportunities as off-campus activities, events, and experiences that prepare students for college by providing a setting where they can receive feedback about their strengths and areas of growth as well as further develop their social skills.

At SEED, we recognize that preparing for enrollment in and graduation from college requires learning outside of the traditional classroom setting. We know that to truly thrive in a college setting, students need years of exposure to environments that push them beyond their comfort zone. They need chances to take risks, to interact with a range of people, and to have their perspective challenged. Throughout their time with us, we want students to take advantage of environments where they can do just that.
