Atlas Metal and Iron is looking for an Environmental, Health and Safety Manager based out of our main plant in Denver Colorado. We are looking for someone who wants to begin/springboard their career in the EHS field. The EHS Manager will work hand in hand with company management as well as our 3rd party consulting firm on the following:


· Develop, implement, and update Atlas’ safety and environmental programs to comply with government regulations.

· Support plant foreman and supervisors to ensure operations adhere to EHS programs and work permits are followed when needed (LOTO, Confined Spaces, Hot Work, etc.).

· Coordinate and perform required inspections, determine corrective actions for non-compliances, best practices, recommendations, and more.

· Coordinate with insurance carrier and consultants for quarterly audits and inspections.

· Coordinate Industrial Hygiene and Ergonomic Assessments as needed.

· Develop, and arrange safety training and communications to personnel.

· Facilitate Safety Committee meetings on a regular basis.

· Arrange medical surveillance evaluations (Annual Hearing Test, lead blood test).

· Investigate and record any accidents and near misses, stablish corrective and/or disciplinary actions.

· Communicate with insurance carrier to report claims and coordinate Return-To-Work programs according to medical restrictions.

· Evaluate and manage PPE, ensuring proper use, maintenance, and availability.

· Update Denver Fire Departments Permits as needed (Hazardous Materials, Confined Spaces, Hot work, Oil burner).

· Ensure all environmental programs are followed during operations (MAP, SWMP, SPCC).

· Control and manage special waste disposal (lead contaminated PPE, fluids, other).

· Ensure stormwater discharge complies with environmental requirements through correct operation of water treatment plant.

· Regularly report to Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE) and EPA: Discharge Monitoring Report (DMR), and Annual Recycler Report.

· Manage documentation to ensure it is updated, submitted, and appropriately posted.


Requirements:

· Bachelor’s Degree required, however, a combination of minimum and preferred experience with some education will be considered.

· Preference will be given to those who hold a degree in a Safety or Environmental related field.

· Excellent written, oral, time management and interpersonal skills.

· Fluent in Spanish as well as English is a plus

· Project Management Experience.

· Good interpersonal and communication skills.

· Good organizational skills.

· Can work independently.

· Knowledge of US EH&S and DOT Regulations,

· Proficient with Microsoft Office particularly Word, Excel and Power Point.
