Title: Program Manager – Next GEN POS


Summary:

CEI’s retail client is adding a highly motivated Program Manager – Next GEN POS to their team based out of Cincinnati, OH. Join our forward-thinking team as we innovate within the retail technology space, focusing on enhancing customer experiences through our Next Gen POS initiative. This multi-year project aims to transform checkout processes, empowering associates to finalize transactions effortlessly anywhere in the store, thus offering an improved, contemporary shopping experience. This role involves collaboration with internal resources, stakeholders, and third-party contract resources to ensure successful project delivery. As a pivotal member of our technology team, you will be instrumental in driving our program's strategic direction, focusing on robust project execution and sustainable technology integration. Your focus will be on Infrastructure/Tech readiness in infrastructure implementation/Retail store openings.


Job at a glance:

  • $60-$65/hr. W2
  • Cincinnati, OH in their office and Next GEN POS lab 2-4 days/week


Responsibilities:

  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with team leads across Scrum, Product, Engineering, and third-party groups.
  • Coach and provide leadership to project managers within the program, promoting an Agile and iterative waterfall methodology for project execution.
  • Develop and maintain detailed project and program plans, tracking progress and managing deviations to ensure timely and budget-compliant delivery.
  • Lead risk management activities, develop mitigation strategies and escalate unresolved issues as necessary.
  • Foster a culture of urgency and accountability, ensuring continuous alignment of program objectives with strategic business goals.
  • Optimize resource allocation across the program to ensure efficient execution of projects.
  • Drive program decisions and problem-solving efforts to optimize outcomes and enhance the checkout experience.
  • Coordinate with the Portfolio Management Office (PMO) to manage program budgets and ensure compliance with financial objectives (Note: This role does not manage the budget directly).
  • Regularly report on program status, risks, and achievements to stakeholders at all levels.


Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in Program Management, particularly in delivering large-scale and complex projects involving hardware rollouts across multiple sites.
  • Strong background in managing programs within a predominantly Agile environment, supplemented by iterative waterfall processes.
  • PMP certification or equivalent practical experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver project objectives within time and budget constraints.
  • Exceptional leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to anticipate, identify, and manage risks in project and program execution.
  • Experience in retail grocery, POS systems, and self-checkout implementations is highly preferred.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with IT infrastructure readiness, particularly in a retail environment.
  • Expertise in managing external customers and understanding the deployment life cycles.
  • Dynamic presentation and facilitation skills with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders.
