Head of Investor Relations and Business Development: Whitebark Investors


Whitebark Investors is spinning out of a prominent family office to start raising capital from third-party investors and build an independent business. Whitebark has a more than a 5-year investment track record (available on request) and currently manages over $300M of AUM. 


Whitebark has historically invested in a long-biased, concentrated, fundamental and tax efficient strategy with about 75% of capital invested in public equities and 25% in private companies that we anticipate will become public companies over time. On the public side, at any one time, Whitebark invests in 10-14 companies on the long side and 0-3 on the short side.


For the right candidate, this is a phenomenal opportunity to get in on the ground floor at a partner level as Whitebark spins out from a well-known single family office to become a leading, independent manager of a long-term oriented public and private equity fund.


This position will execute the Firm’s investor relations, marketing and fundraising efforts and shape the strategic direction for a platform that already has significant assets under management, a fully built out investment team, and a track record of investment returns.


Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

·        Designing the fundraising strategy across the core Whitebark fund (and special purpose vehicles as needed)

·        Guiding investors through fund due diligence processes, including completing diligence requests (i.e. DDQs, RFPs, RFIs), handling relevant follow-up, coordinating investment and operational due diligence meetings, and liaising with various teams within the organization

·        Communicating with investors, including, but not limited to, responding to investor requests and inquiries and drafting regular investor letters and correspondence

·        Working on cross functional projects, which may include items such as new product & business development initiatives and internal management presentations


We seek an individual who is self-motivated, demonstrates creative thinking and has the following qualifications:

·        2-5 years of experience in an investor relations role at a public equity asset management firm

·        Bachelors degree

·        Extremely motivated self-starter with strong project management and follow-through skills

·        Highly effective verbal and written communication skills

·        Comfortable speaking to high profile individuals and institutions

·        Strong analytical capabilities and the ability to think creatively

·        Ability to work independently and also solve problems in a collaborative manner

·        Solid understanding of financial markets with particular knowledge of public equities markets

·        Understanding of fund structures is a plus

The position will be New York City based with very competitive compensation, in the form of partnership economics, and benefits. The expectation will be that this person will work from the office 4 days a week when they are not travelling for business.
