Manufacturing Engineer

Job Summary: We are seeking an innovative and experienced Manufacturing Engineer specializing in automation. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in optimizing manufacturing processes through automation, with hands-on experience in implementing and managing automated systems. Proficiency with Autodesk software is essential for this role. This position is critical to enhancing production efficiency, reducing costs, and maintaining high-quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and optimize manufacturing processes with a strong focus on automation to improve efficiency, productivity, and quality.
- Implement, program, and maintain automated systems, robotics, and machinery, ensuring smooth integration with existing production lines.
- Utilize Autodesk software to design and model automated systems, equipment layouts, and production processes.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, quality assurance, and maintenance, to identify opportunities for automation and process improvements.
- Analyze manufacturing workflows and apply automation solutions to reduce manual intervention, increase throughput, and minimize errors.
- Develop and maintain detailed documentation, including process maps, automation protocols, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and maintenance guidelines.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues with automated equipment, ensuring minimal downtime and consistent production output.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives by applying lean manufacturing principles and automation technologies to enhance overall plant efficiency.
- Conduct time studies, cost analysis, and ROI assessments for proposed automation projects to justify investments.
- Train and support production staff in the use of automated systems, ensuring they are proficient in operating and troubleshooting equipment.
- Stay updated on the latest advancements in automation technology and manufacturing best practices, integrating new tools and techniques to maintain a competitive edge.
- Ensure all automated systems comply with industry safety standards and regulatory requirements.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in manufacturing engineering, with a focus on automation and process optimization.
- Proficiency in Autodesk software, including but not limited to AutoCAD and Inventor, for designing and modeling manufacturing systems.
- Experience in designing and implementing automated systems, including robotics, PLCs, and other control systems.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, lean manufacturing principles, and process improvement methodologies.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a strong attention to detail.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and engineering documentation.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to lead and execute automation projects from concept to completion.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
- Familiarity with industry safety standards and regulations related to automated systems.
